The origin of Yar Khan & Co. dates back to 1950 when Mr. Justice Ibadat Yar Khan laid the foundation of legal excellence and client advocacy in Pakistan. Being a pioneer in Pakistan’s legal landscape, he handled some of the first medicolegal cases and significant Third-Party cases in the initial years.
Even before the establishment of the firm, Justice Yar Khan’s leadership skills were recognized and his influence extended beyond the courtroom. He was elected President of the Aligarh Muslim University Union in 1947. Moreover, he was entrusted with the first edition of Maulana Maududi’s Tafseer and has received acknowledgment in the book, “Qadiyaniat in the Eyes of Law”.
In 1983, he was appointed Judge of the High Court of Sindh. Later, he continued his judiciary contributions as the Judge of the Federal Shariat Court from 1988, solidifying his legacy as a key figure in Pakistan.
The firm was handed over to Justice Saadat Yar Khan in 1999, an advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Mr. Saadat expanded the firm during his tenure. After a much-appreciated service of 25 years, the firm will be transferred to Barrister Mr. Wajahat Yar Khan, a dedicated young mind, to carry the legacy to the next level of success
